Rebecca & Scott | Engagement Session

Rebecca and Scott wanted to have their engagement session done at a location that was meaningful to them.  St. Lawrence Market was a place they would often go to when Scott lived downtown, and they have a favourite bakery there called "Future Bakery".  These two definitely have a sweet-tooth for desserts and each other!  Becky brought along a "Ring Pop" in replacement of her engagement ring that is currently with the jeweler, such a cute idea!
Along the way we came across a wonderful little park with an impressive fountain that had these cute little sparrows bathing in it, do I hear "Photo-Op?" =) There is so much variety in this part of downtown and I think we've found another favourite spot for photographs today, thanks to Becky and Scott!
We will be seeing this couple again real soon at their Engagement Party, the first of many (I hope!) Lifestyle Sessions which will form a new gallery on the Ellumin Photography website!

Claire & Jason | Engagement Session

It was a pleasure taking engagement photos for Claire and Jason this past Sunday, they are such a stylin' couple!  Claire had originally wanted to dress in formal wedding attire for this session, but due to the gown not being ready in time she had to improvise and I think the elegant black dress was a great choice.  Claire also had her hair and make-up done that morning and Jason rock'd a full suit.  Claire and Jason work together at the same company, where they met and eventually fell in love.  These two are such a sweet couple and their wedding is just around the corner in July!

Amelia & David's Perfect Day | Wedding

Amelia and David's special day started at the Hilton, where the bride, bridesmaids, and a large group of 'sisters' consisting of the bride's closest girlfriends got prettied up and prepared for the arrival of the groom and his entourage.

I feel that sometimes the best way to experience a wedding is from behind the lens, capturing and being a part of the entire day, including all that happens behind the scenes.  Photographing Amelia & David's wedding was an especially special experience for me because Amelia has been a close friend of mine for over 10 years.  Having the liberty of knowing her for this length of time, I've learned that one of her strongest traits is her strive for perfection, and this definitely shown through in the details of her exquisite day.  The gorgeous wedding attire, unique hair and make-up matching each outfit change, stretch limo, four-tiered wedding cake, donations to the Cancer Society as favours, and most importantly the planning and organization all contributed to this wonderful event!

My favourite part of the night was when David serenaded his new wife, accompanied by his friend Jobi playing the guitar and a bouquet of roses as the final surprise.  Congratulations to both of you and hope you are having a superb time on your honeymoon in Paris!

ellumin photography has returned from vacation!

After spending two weeks in Hong Kong amongst the dense population, buzzing city streets and countless restaurants and shops, stepping foot on Toronto soil again made me realize the huge contrast between these two cities.  I find myself feeling homesick towards one when I'm in the other and vice versa, although it’s only been a day since we've been back, I'm already anticipating our next visit in 2011.
Very rarely will you see us uploading non-SLR photos onto this blog, but here are a few personal quick snapshots we took on the run that I wanted to share with you, Enjoy!
